points, lines, and angles
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Point | An exact location in a space |
| Line | Goes on and on in both directions, has arrows on both ends |
| Line segment | Part of a line, with end points on both ends |
| Ray | Part of a line, has an end point on one end and goes on forever in one direction |
| parallel lines | Lines that will never intersect |
| perpendicular lines | Lines that intersect at a right angle |
| right angle | Angle that measures exactly 90 degrees, perfect corner |
| acute angle | An angle that measures less than 90 degrees |
| vertex | Where two rays meet, to create an angle |
| obtuse angle | An angle that measures more than 90 degrees |
| polygon | A closed figure |
| quadrilateral | a 4 sided shape |
