points, lines, and angles

TermDefinition
Point An exact location in a space
Line Goes on and on in both directions, has arrows on both ends
Line segment Part of a line, with end points on both ends
Ray Part of a line, has an end point on one end and goes on forever in one direction
parallel lines Lines that will never intersect
perpendicular lines Lines that intersect at a right angle
right angle Angle that measures exactly 90 degrees, perfect corner
acute angle An angle that measures less than 90 degrees
vertex Where two rays meet, to create an angle
obtuse angle An angle that measures more than 90 degrees
polygon A closed figure
quadrilateral a 4 sided shape
