Plagiarism

TermDefinition
Plagiarism Presenting work or ideas from another source as your own, with or without consent of the original author, by incorporating it into your work without full acknowledgement.
Intentional Ex: Copying an entire post or article Something that is obvious and shows no signs of original work.
Unintentional Ex: Not understanding the citation circle and missing key elements of source attribution.
Procrastination Putting work off until the last minute. This can sometimes lead to plagiarism.
Citing Source Giving a source credit for using their work is very important.
AI (Artificial Intelligence) Can be used to assist students or in some cases plagiarize.
We Credit Information that you use from things such as newspapers, magazines, websites, or books.
We Don't Credit Things that are common knowledge or personal information.
Avoiding Plagiarism You cannot procrastinate on your work. Make sure you take good notes and know how to paraphrase.
Procrastination Putting work off until the very last minute which can promote bad habits.
