Vocabulary words with the prefixes 'stat' and 'pend'

| Ecstatic | Extreme joy; to know the feeling of pure delight |
| Estate | A considerably large piece of property; high social position or rank; the whole of one's possessions. |
| Static | Fixed; to stay with no motion ; not active. |
| Station | The place or position where a person or thing stands or is assigned to stand; a post. |
| Stationary | Not moving; not capable of being moved; fixed in position. |
| Stature | One's height in an upright position; achieved position or level. |
| Status | Position in society relative to others' |
| Status Quo | Staying the same; unchanging |
| Statute | A law; a rule created by someone of a high position. |
| Thermostat | A device that responds to temperature changes in order to maintain its set position |
| Appendix | A collection of supplementary material that usually hangs at the end of a book; extra materials added to the end of a book. |
| Dependent | Relying on someone else for aid or support; weighing down on someone else. |
| Expenditure | An expense, the amount needed to be paid out. |
| Impending | About to occur, threatening to happen, to weigh down upon someone. |
| Independent | Not relying on someone else for aid or support; not weighing down on someone else. |
| Pendant | An object that hangs, usually from a necklace. |
| Pending | Hanging on; something not yet decided; awaiting a conclusion |
| Pendulum | Something that hangs and swings back and forth. |
| Perpendicular | Intersecting at or forming right angles. |
