| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Vertical Angles | angles that are opposite of each other at a pair of intersecting lines |
| Vertical Angles Theorem | if 2 angles are vertical, then they are congruent |
| Flow proof | a structure of proof that uses boxes and arrows |
| Complementary Angles | two angles that add together to equal 90 |
| Supplementary Angles | two angles that add together to equal 180 |
| Corresponding Angles | lies on the same side of the transversal and on the same sides of the intersected lines |
| Same-side Interior Angles | lies on the same side of the transversal and between the intersected lines |
| Alternate Interior Angles | nonadjacent angles that lie on the opposite sides of the transversal between the intersected lines |
| Alternate Exterior Angles | lies on the opposite sides of the transversal and outside the intersected lines |
| Converse | "if p, then q" by swapping p and q |
| Parallel Postulate | through a point P not on line L, there is exactly one line parallel to L |
| Perpendicular Bisector Theorem | if a point is on the perpendicular bisector of a segment, then it is equidistant from the endpoints of the segment |
| Indirect Proof | the assumption that the statement you are trying to prove is false, then use logic to lead on with that claim |
