Vertebrate Class

this is a flashcard study to know and determine what the words mean.

TermDefinition
Pharyngeal Gills Function: Openings that are used for oxygen in fish, in vertebrates. -If aquatic, they have gills. If they are not aquatic, they have ears.
Dorsal Nerve Cord Develops into the brain and spinal cord in most adult vertebrates.
Notocord Found just below the nerve cord, will become the spine in Vertebrates.
Mouth Toward the anterior of the animal, contains parts for gathering food.
Digestive System Extends from the mouth and to the anus.
Circulatory System Lies just below the notocord, delivers blood and oxygen that is supplied by gills.
Anus Opening at the posterior end, removes undigested wastes.
Tail (Post-Anal Tail) Located at the posterior (hind) end, used for locomotion.
