| Term | Definition |

| Sum | The answer to an addition problem. |
| Difference | The answer to a subtraction problem. |
| Product | The answer to a multiplication problem. |
| Quotient | The answer to a division problem. |
| Order of Operations | The order in which math operations should be completed. |
| Absolute Value | The distance an integer is from zero on a number line. |
| Opposites | Two integers that are the same distance from zero on a number line. |
| Integers | Whole numbers and their opposites. |
| Negative | A number less than zero. |
| Positive | A number greater than zero. |
| Base | The number being multiplied. |
| Exponent | The smaller raised number tells how many times to multiply the big (base) number. |
| Perfect Square | A number made by squaring a whole number. |
| Square Root | A number multiplied by itself will equal the original number. |
| Powers of 10 | Numbers that can be formed by multiplying 10 times itself. |
