| characters | people or animals in the story, establishes the point of view |
| protagonist | good guy, main character, the character around with the story is centered |
| antagonist | bad guy, the person or force working against the protagonist |
| theme | the lesson the author wants us. to learn |
| conflict | the problem in the story, there are two types: internal, external |
| plot | the events that happen in the story |
| dialogue | when characters talk in a story |
| trait | a special quality, or feature, of a person or animal |
