Conjecture An unproven statement about a general mathematical concept
Theorem A proven statement about a general mathematical concept
Variable A statement that two expressions are equal
Constant The letter or symbols in an equation
Coefficient A number attached to a variable
Solution A value that makes an equation true
Inverse Operation Two operations that undo eachother
Addition Property of Equality Adding each number to each sides of the equation: if x-b, then x+a=b+a
Subtraction Property of Equality Subtracting: If c-w then c-p-w-p
Division Property of Equality c/a=s/a a=/0
Identity An equation that is true for all values of the variable
Absolute Value Equation An equation that contains an absolute value equation
Variable A number by itself
