Achievement Review Vocabulary #4

addends One of two or more numbers that are added.
decompose To simplify a mathematical equation.
factor One of two or more numbers that are multiplied to give a product.
GCF (greatest common factor) The largest factor that two or more numbers have in common.
LCM (least common multiple) The smallest number that is a multiple of two or more numbers.
median The middle value in a set of data when the data are listed in order from smallest to largest
mode The number or numbers that occur most often in a collection of data.
prime factorization A whole number expressed as a product of prime factors.
product The result of multiplying two numbers called factors.
ratio A comparison of two quantities. A pair of numbers that expresses a rate or a comparison.
sum The result of adding two or more numbers.
table A graphic used to organize information.
Venn diagram A drawing that shows relationships among sets of objects.
