| gargoyle | a spout in the form of a grotesque human or animal figure projecting from a roof gutter to throw rainwater clear of a building |

| surmount | to prevail over : OVERCOME : to get to the top of : CLIMB |
| imperative | not to be avoided or evaded |
| placid | serenely free of interruption or disturbance |
| indolently | a: averse to activity, effort, or movement : habitually lazy b: showing an inclination to laziness |
| opaqueness | blocking the passage of radiant energy and especially light |
| aristocrat | is someone whose family has a high social rank, especially someone who has a title |
