TermDefinition
Mass the amount of matter in an object
Volume the amount of space that an object takes up
Density amount of matter in a certain space
Graduated Cylinder this is used to measure the volume of a liquid
Beaker this is used in a lab for mixing, heating, and stirring liquids
Scientific Method a process that involves problem-solving in order to get an answer
Independent Variable this variable can only be changed by the environment or the scientist
Dependent Variable this is changed based on the reaction of the independent variable
Controlled Variable purposely prevented from changing in the experiment
Controlled Experiment this involves only one independent variable that is being tested/changed
Estimated Digit something you put after the least significant digit in the number
Scientific Law summarizes a pattern found in nature but has no explanation on to why it exists
Scientific Theory created to explain what you observed in an experiment
Hypothesis a estimated guess about what the answer to a question might be
