| department store | a large shop divided into several different parts, each of which sells different things |
| supermarket | a large shop which sells most types of food and other goods needed in the home |
| browsing | to look at a lot of things in a shop rather than looking to buy something specific |
| trying on clothes | the action of putting on clothes in a store to see if they fit or look nice |
| comparing prices | the action of checking the cost of the same item in different stores to see where it is cheaper |
| trolley | (British English) a small vehicle that you push around a store, putting the things that you want to buy in it (shopping cart in American English) |
