Competition, Pred/Prey, Symbiosis

Competition Two or more organisms trying to get the same limited resource
Competition Within Two or more organisms of the same species both trying to get the same resource. Ex. Deer eating grass in the same field.
Competition Between Two or more organisms of different species trying to get the same resource. Ex. A wolf and a fox both looking for prey in the same woods.
Prey _____ is the organism that is eaten.
Predator ____ is the organism that hunts and eats it's prey.
Adaptation A characteristic that helps an organism survive in its environment.
Symbiosis ____ is a close, long-term association between two to more species.
Mutualism Both organisms benefit
Commensalism One organism benefits, and the other organism is unaffected.
Parasitism One organism benefits, while the other organism is harmed.
Limiting Factors A needed resource that is in limited supply
Carrying Capacity The Largest population that a given environment can support over a long period of time
Physical Adaptation Any part of an organism's biology that helps them specifically to survive in their ecosystem
Behavioral Adaptation Something an animal does in order to survive
