| Imagery | The creation of likeness through order and word choice |
| Simile | Comparison of two things that are alike using the words like or as |
| Metaphor | Comparison of two thing that are not alike without using like or as |
| Rhythm | The beat represented by stressed and unstressed syllables |
| Rhetorical Question | A question to which an answer is not expected |
