Who is generally an organization's most valuable asset? people (human capital)
Name the three kinds of planning carried out by Human Resources. Staffing, Compensation, Promotions
Staffing looks at the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the team's current staff and compares it with the manager's expectations.
Compensation individuals get more than their salary. Includes base salary, benefits, and any bonuses.
Promotions help employees and managers know that they can have bright futures. --> encourages employee growth within the company.
Define total compensation. Base salary, benefits, and bonuses/incentives.
Name four organizational tasks carried out by Human Resources. Adhere to pay rate, provide benefits, provide working conditions, use scheduled work hours.
After recruiting employees, human resources also manage their what? development
How are employee evaluations used? Rate employees against company goals, and determine bonuses/pay.
What is a 360-degree employee evaluation? Employees rate themselves and are also evaluated by their peers.
