| integer | Whole numbers and their opposites |
| ratio | A comparison of two numbers or measures using division |
| unit rate | A rate with a denominator of 1 |
| ordered pairs | A pair of numbers that gives the coordinates of a point on a grid |
| vertex | The point at which two line segments, lines, or rays meet to form an angle |
| line symmetry | A line that divides a figure into two congruent halves that are mirror images of each other |
| rotational symmetry | A figure that can be turned less than 360 degrees about a point and fit exactly on itself. |
| power of 10 | A number with 10 as a base and a whole number exponent. |
| prime factorization | A way to write a number as the product of prime numbers. |
| exponential form | A way of writing a number using exponents. |
| order of operations | Rules describing what sequence to use in evaluating expressions.PEMDAS |
| commutative property | A rule of multiplication and addition that states the order of the numbers does not change the answer. |
| associative property | A rule of multiplication and addition that states the grouping of the numbers does not change the answer. |
| distributive property | When one of the factors of a product is written as a sum, multiplying each addend before adding does not cahnge the factor. |
| inverse operation | An opposite operation that can be used to solve for the unknown. |
