3rd grade geometry week one- lines, rays, points
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| line | a set of points that extend forever in opposite directions |
| line segment | the part of a line between two endpoints |
| ray | the part of a line that starts at one endpoint and goes on forever in one direction |
| intersecting lines | lines that meet at a common point |
| parallel lines | line on a flat surface that are always the same distance apart. They will never intersect |
| perpendicular lines | lines that intersect at square corners |
| angles | formed by two rays that start out from the same point |
| right angle | an angle that forms a right angle (square corner) |
| acute angle | an angle that is less than a right angle |
| obtuse angle | and angle that is greater than a right angle |
