This is because we release powerful hormones, like oxytocin, when we are happy/afraid, that make those moments stick in our brain. |
| Why can building a close relationship during a scary event be good? | Humans are social & emotional beings. We need others in times of stress, so the fact that our bodies have evolved to make sure we feel close to those we are with when afraid makes sense and is normal. |
