| What was africa's environment like? | The envirment varied, there were areas with deserts and also areas with rain forests. |
| How did africa's envirment effect the survival of people? | The envirment effected the survival of many because they couldn't grow crops in certain areas, and they also couldn't have live stock. The area was ever changing meaning many had to adapt and move their homes. |
| What were women expected to do in hunting and gathering societys? | Women of this time were expected to gather, take care of livestock, take care of their family, make clothing: They did more of the house jobs. |
| What happens in a patrilineal society? | In a patrilineal society, when a son marries, his wife, and their kids remain apart of his fathers extended family |
| What happens in a matrilineal society? | n a matrilineal society people trace there heritage through their mothers, however the father still remains in control. |
| What is an age set system? | The system is a group of people who are born in the same time period that are in a certain religion. The system might have to do with achievements and certain jobs. |
| How were religions set up? | Many religions in Africa were polytheistic and most or all had something to do with ghosts or spirits. They didn't believe that the main god had much to do with their day to day life but more the spirts |
| Who were the nok people? | The nok people lived in Nigeria between 500 BC and AD, They were the first west african people to learn to smelt iron, |
| What was djenne-djeno? | This was the oldest known city in africa, however it was abandoned sometime after AD 1400. |
| What were the djenne-djeno people known for? | they built enclosed houses made of mud bricks. They fished in the Niger River, herded cattle, and raised rice on the river’s fertile floodplains, they were well known for their work with iron. |
