QuestionAnswer
Class C airspace usually extends up to what altitude? 4,000 feet above the airport. Class C airspace is generally airspace from the surface to 4,000 feet above the airport elevation (charted in MSL)
When a control tower, located on an airport within Class D airspace ceases operation for the day, what happens to the airspace designation? The airspace reverts to Class E or a combination of Class E and G airspace during the hours the tower is not in operation.
(Near the center of the figure) What class of airspace is associated with SIOUX GATEWAY/COL DAY (SUX) Airport? #78 Class D airspace. The blue dashed line around Sioux City denotes Class D airspace.
(Area 1) What type of airspace is Georgetown (E36) located in? #3 Class G. Class D. Class E. G The airspace below the base of the Class E is Class G because any airspace that is not designated as Class B, C, D, or E is Class G airspace.
The lateral dimensions of Class D airspace are based on the instrument procedures for which the controlled airspace is established. The configuration of each Class D airspace area is individually tailored and when instrument procedures are published, the airspace is normally designed to contain the procedures.
(Area 4) What type airspace exists at the top of the 420-foot tower located Southeast of Plantation Airport (JYL)? fig 23 Class GThe magenta circle denotes Class E airspace inside the circle beginning at 700 feet AGL The airspace below is not designated, and is therefore Class G (uncontrolled) airspace. The top of the tower is therefore below the Class E airspace.
(Area 1) A prospective client would like you to use your UA to inspect crops in the area five miles northwest of the town of Binford. A utility company has asked you to inspect the top of the two towers located east of Onawa Airport (96° W, 42° N). The proposed operation FIG 78 will take place in Class G airspace, and does not require permission from ATC.The elevation of the towers is 1,335 feet MSL (292 feet AGL). 292 feet AGL is below the 1,200-foot floor of the Class E airspace. Any airspace not designated is Class G airspac
According to 14 CFR part 107, how may a Remote Pilot in Command (Remote PIC) operate an unmanned aircraft in controlled airspace (Class B, C, D, and E associated with an airport)? The Remote PIC must have prior authorization from Air Traffic Control (ATC)
The vertical limit of Class D airspace will normally be up to, and including, 2,500 feet above the airport elevation. Class D airspace normally extends from the surface to 2,500 feet above the airport elevation (charted in MSL) surrounding those airports that have an operational control tower.
(Area 3) You have been hired to conduct an inspection of the top of the 1,548-foot tower located southwest of Savanna International Airport (SAV). The proposed operation FIG 23 requires prior permission from Savannah Approach Control.Permission from ATC is required because the top of the tower is located within Class C controlled airspace, which begins at 1,300 feet MSL (the 41/13 notation means floor of 1,300 feet MSL and ceili
Unless otherwise specified, Federal Airways include that Class E airspace extending upward from 1,200 feet above the surface, up to and including 17,999 feet MSL. Federal airways are Class E airspace that begins at 1,200 feet AGL and ends at 18,000' MSL (where Class A begins).
Without prior ATC authorization, you can fly your sUAS below 400 feet above the ground (AGL) in uncontrolled airspace. Operating in controlled airspace at any altitude is prohibited without prior permission from ATC.
When may a person operate a small UA within Class D airspace? When that person has received prior authorization from ATC.Operating in controlled airspace is prohibited without prior permission from ATC. Controlled airspace is airspace designated as Class B, C, D, or E on the sectional chart.
The airspace overlying and within 5 miles of Barnes County Airport is FIG 26 Class G airspace from the surface to 700 feet AGL.
According to 14 CFR part 107 the remote pilot in command (PIC) of a small unmanned aircraft planning to operate within Class C airspace is required to receive ATC authorization. No person may operate a small unmanned aircraft in Class B, Class C, or Class D airspace or within the lateral boundaries of the surface area of Class E airspace designated for an airport unless PERMISSION
The width of a federal airway from either side of the centerline is 4 nautical miles.
According to 14 CFR part 107, how may a remote pilot operate an unmanned aircraft in class C airspace? The remote pilot must have prior authorization from the Air Traffic Control (ATC) facility having jurisdiction over that airspace.
(Area 4) A proposed UA operation requires photographing the 420-foot tower located southeast of Plantation Airport (JYL). Photographing the tower will require the UA to fly between 400 and 500 feet AGL. The proposed operation FIG 23 does not require prior permission from ATC.The magenta circle denotes Class E airspace inside the circle beginning at 700 feet AGL. The airspace below 700 feet is not designated, and is therefore Class G (uncontrolled) airspace.
(Area 4) Operation of a UA to photograph the base of the 1,793-foot tower south of Jamestown Regional Airport (JMS) FIG 26 requires prior permission from ATC. The tower is located within Class E surface airspace that is established for Jamestown airport (the area bordered by the dashed lines). Per FAR 107.41, prior permission from ATC is require
