| politically correct | agreeing with the idea that people should be careful to not use language or behave in a way that could offend a particular group of people |
| blunt | very direct; saying exactly what you think without trying to be polite |
| diplomatic | having or showing skill in dealing with people in difficult situations |
| tactful | careful not to say or do anything that will annoy or upset other people |
| polite | having or showing good manners and respect for the feelings of others |
| civil | polite in a formal way but possibly not friendly |
| offensive | rude in a way that causes somebody to feel upset or annoyed because it shows a lack of respect |
| personal | connected with a person’s private life, rather than their job or official position |
| respectful | showing or feeling respect |
| vulgar | not having or showing good taste; not polite, pleasant or well behaved |
