WW2 style questions evacuation of Dunkirk

QuestionAnswer
The evacuation of Dunkirk took place between... 26th May and 4th June 1940. This was partly successful for Britain.
Dunkirk was partly successful because... Over 300,000 soldiers were rescued which allowed them to continue fighting later in the war.
It was also successful because... These men were viewed as heroes on their return and called 'unbeatable', raising morale.
It was also successful because... Many French soldiers were also rescued which allowed the establishment of the Free French Army, who fought later in the war.
However, Dunkirk could also be viewed as unsuccessful because... Nearly all the mens equipment, including tanks and machine guns, were left behind.
It could also be viewed as unsuccessful as... Britain lost 6 battleships in the operation, weakening their navy for later in the war.
In conclusion... Dunkirk was a success for Britain. It allowed Britian to fight on because many soldiers were rescued and British morale was maintained.
