4.3a Animals vocabulary

TermDefinition
organism are living things that have (or can develop) the ability to act or function independently.
population the total of organisms occupying an area is its population.
community are the living parts of an ecosystem.
ecosystem are living and nonliving things in an environment and all their interactions.
nonliving factors of an ecosystem might include such things as sunlight, water, nutrients, soil, and air
