| Aperture | Controls the volume of light that is let into the camera. controls the Depth of Field in your photograph. |
| Bokeh | Out of focus effect that appers in the background of a photograph due to the use of a low aperture. |
| Composition | The arrangement of objects in a photograph. |
| Depth of Field | How much of an image is in focus. Caused by the size of the cameras aperture/ f-stop. |
| Exposure | The amount of light that reaches a cameras sensor. |
| Focus | How much of an image is sharp and easy to see. |
| ISO | The first control you change on a camera to adjust it's sensors sensitivity to light. |
| Long Exposure | When the shutter speed setting on a camera is slow which allows the image to capture movement over a longer period of time. |
| Manual Shooting Mode | The setting on a camera that allows you to control the ISO, Shutter Speed and the Aperature giving you more control over the exposure. |
| Noise / Grain | Dots on an image that make the image appear pixelated or textured. |
| .RAW | A type of image format that is uncompressed allowing for more data and detail in an image. |
| Rule of Thirds | A composition guideline that places your subject in the left or right third of an image, leaving the other two thirds more open. |
