QuestionAnswer
Aperture Controls the volume of light that is let into the camera. controls the Depth of Field in your photograph.
Bokeh Out of focus effect that appers in the background of a photograph due to the use of a low aperture.
Composition The arrangement of objects in a photograph.
Depth of Field How much of an image is in focus. Caused by the size of the cameras aperture/ f-stop.
Exposure The amount of light that reaches a cameras sensor.
Focus How much of an image is sharp and easy to see.
ISO The first control you change on a camera to adjust it's sensors sensitivity to light.
Long Exposure When the shutter speed setting on a camera is slow which allows the image to capture movement over a longer period of time.
Manual Shooting Mode The setting on a camera that allows you to control the ISO, Shutter Speed and the Aperature giving you more control over the exposure.
Noise / Grain Dots on an image that make the image appear pixelated or textured.
.RAW A type of image format that is uncompressed allowing for more data and detail in an image.
Rule of Thirds A composition guideline that places your subject in the left or right third of an image, leaving the other two thirds more open.
