atmosphere the thin layer of gases surrounding the Earth
crust outer most layer of Earth
magnetic field forms from the outer core circulating around the inner core
oceanic crust the most dense type of crust
continental crust the thicker, less dense crust
inner core solid, made mostly of iron
outer core the liquid section of the surrounding the solid, inner core
mantle the layer under the crust where convection currents occur
