Career Unit Test

Study these terms for your test on the career unit.

QuestionAnswer
A two year program that is specialized in a specific area, such as counseling. Masters degree: A two year program that specializes in a specific area. A person gets their bachelors degree first, then a master's degree.
A position for which a person is paid. Job: A position for which a person is paid. A person can have many different jobs in their life to earn money, especially as a teen.

This doctoral degree reflects industry mastery in his or her profession. PhD: This doctoral degree reflects industry mastery in his or her profession. A person can now be called Dr. after earning their PhD.
A natural talent Aptitude: A natural talent; turn your aptitude into an ability to earn money.
A skill that is developed through practice. Ability- A skill that is developed through practice. Turn your aptitudes into an ability to earn money in a satisfying career.

Things to consider when filling out a job application include: When filling out a job application: Write neatly in blue or black ink, be honest on the application, fill it out completely with perfect spelling and grammar.
What are some things to consider when looking for a job? Network- Tell as many people as possible you are looking for a job, look for job ads but be careful if a job seems too good to be true, apply directly to a company or create an ad yourself telling others about yourself and the type of job you want.
