bandwagon "everyone's doing it" as argument
appeal to emotion using emotion to support argument
appeal to false authority using irrelevant person to support argument
appeal to tradition saying that something's been done for awhile to support argument
argument from ignorance stating that a belief is true because we don't know that it isn't true
circular reasoning restating the claim as the evidence
either/or reduces many options to two extreme choices
false analogy comparing two unalike things
fear tactics using fear to support argument
hasty generalization making an assumption based on narrow evidence
non sequitur when conclusion has no logical connection to premises
post hoc, ergo propter hoc when cause and effect argument doesn't prove causation
red herring introducing an off-topic discussion to distract audience from real debate
slippery slope assuming that one event will lead to a dramatic series of events
straw-man exaggerating/over-simplifying opponent's argument
tu quoque claiming that opponent is hypocritical with their argument
