Thirtieth list of 15 words for the 2st semester of AP Lang and Comp

QuestionAnswer
Imbroglio (noun) an entanglement or complicated misunderstanding
Extrapolate (verb) to arrive at an estimate by examining unknown values; to make a supposition based on shifting or tenuous information
Feckless (adjective) ineffective or feeble; lacking initiative or ability in a given area
Harangue (noun) a scolding, especially a lengthy one delivered in a public setting (may also be used as a verb)
Ignoble (adjective) dishonorable in nature (carries a sense of baseness or lowness)
Miscegenation (noun) interbreeding between members of different racial groups (one time a crime in parts of the US)
Perspicuity (noun) clear and easy to understand (usually with reference to speech and writing)
Renege (verb) to go back (on on's word); to break a promise or commitment
Comely (adjective) pleasing or attractive; also, apporpriate
Ineffable (adjective) beyond the capacity of expression; also, forbidden as a subject of conversation (indescribable or unspeakable)
Confabulate (verb) to chat or talk informally (sometimes used to describe extravagant stroytelling)
Dalliance (noun) a lighthearted undertaking; carefree spending of time
Perfidy (noun) treachery; a calculated breach of faith or trust
Deify (verb) to elevate to the level of divinity; to exalt or revere as godlike
Litany (noun) something (especially a list or a single sentence) related incessantly in an unwavering manner
