TermDefinition
Equivocal (adjective) capable of varying in interpretation; dubious, uncertain, suspect
Retinue (noun) a group of companions or followers (of a person of great importance); entourage
Ossify (verb) to harden or become bone-like; literally, to turn into bone; figuratively, a rigidity of outlook or opinion
Kibosh (noun) the act of halting or squelching; literally, a spell that brings about the doom of something
Fruition (noun) that which has arisen from development, possession, use or effort; final result
Fetid (adjective) smelly; having an unpleasant odor
Adroit (adjective) nimble, expert or skillful in the use of one's hands
Abjure (verb) to renounce upon oath; to reject solemnly
Dereliction (noun) willful neglect; shirking of responsibility; knowing failure to do on's duty
Contumely (noun) a rude display in speech or deed; contemptuous behavior
Mawkish (adjective) overly sentimental; emotional or maudlin
Intransigent (adjective) uncompromising; determined to remain beyond appeal or negotiation
Halcyon (adjective) tranquil; prosperous; carefree
Feral (adjective) wild and uncontrolled; can also mean "natural" or reverted back to nature
Pyrrhic (adjective) gained by an unjustifiably high cost
