QuestionAnswer
What is a rhetoric? The art of seeing the amiable means of persuasion
Forensics (Judicial) Establishes facts or judgments about the past
Epideictic (demonstrative) Makes a proclamation about the current situation
Sybouletikon (deliberative) Focuses on the future to promote change
Who uses the deliberative rhetoric the most? Politicians and Acitivists
Ethos Credentials, being the most knowledgeable in the room
Logos Words or reasoning to back up your statements, often with statistics
Pathos To use people emotions to sway them, often portrayed in the media
Why is logos dangerous? People can manipulate other by giving out false information
What is the negative side to pathos? Emotions are unstable so it could backfire
What are the 4 appeals 1)time 2)setting 3)goal 4)audience
