QuestionAnswer
Parallelism The use of a series of words, phrases, or sentences that have similar grammatical form. Emphasizes the items that are arranged in similar structure.
Motif A significant phrase, image, description, idea, or other element repeated throughout a literary work and related to the theme.
Legend A traditional story handed down from the past, based on actual people and events, and tending to become more exaggerated and fantastical over time. Ex. Robin Hood, Bloody Mary, King Arthur.
Ode An elaborate lyric poem expressed in a dignified and sincere way. May be imaginative as well as intellectual.
Personification A figure of speech in which an animal or object, a force of nature, or an idea is given characteristics,
