Central Limit Therom
Stat 2215Q - Ch. 1 - Central Limit Theorom (CLT). Goes over normalizing & Z - F
Question | Answer |
---|---|
What is CLT? | Regardless of the probability distribution of the population variable, when the RANDOM sampling of the SAME size are selected from the target population, we expect the prob. dist'n of the sample means to be approx. normal provided sample size is large |
µ = ? (In CLT) | µ = µ(x bar) the over all mean equals the sample mean |
What is σ? | The standard deviation |
σ(x bar) = ? (In CLT) | σ(x bar) =σ/(squr root n) |
What is µ? | The population mean |
z = ? | z = (x(bar)-µ(x bar))/σ(x bar) |
On the x bar chart/diagram what is in the center? | µ(x bar) = the sample mean |
On the z chart/diagram what is in the middle, how is the chart split up, and in the distribution chart what do the numbers represent? | In the middle is 0 Each side represents 0.5 The distribution numbers is the probability from 0 to Z |
After finding z with the formula what is the next step? | Going to the chart. |
