What causes Mr. Van Daan to steal food, and what is the effect of his actions on others. Mr. Van Daan steals food because he is hungry and has to share with others. The effect on others is disappointment and anger.
How does Mr. Frank react to his wife's demand that the Van Daans leave. He acts in reason because he thinks she is acting out of anger. Mr. Van Daan is overwhelmed.
Why does Dussel bring the sack of potatoes to the table. He brings a sack of potatoes because he is going to split it among the people there.
What is the effect of the new about D-Day on the people in the Annex. It makes the people happy because they think the war is about over.
What are the details on the news that Miep brings. It started early in the morning, the people helping are, Noregion, Poles, British, American, French and Dutch. The amount of ships landed was more than 4,000.
What new goal does Anne set for herself. The goal Anne sets for herself is to become a better writer. She wants an opinion.
What is the effect of the ringing telephone. They get mad because they don't know who is calling and they are nervous.
What effect has Mrs. Van Daans love of expensive objects had on the family, according to Mr. Van Daan They could be safe and secure instead of where they are. They could of had a lot more materials and resources to live a better life.
Why are the families upset. They thought the telephone ringing was them being caught.
How do Anne's religious beliefs affect her ability to cope with a life in hiding. She believes in god so it helps her with things, she believes in everybody. She said, "In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart."
What causes the sudden change in the characters actions and moods. Is hearing the telephone and car outside thinking they were getting caught. Mr Frank said, " For the past two years, we have lived in fear, now we can live in hope."
How does Anne seek to comfort Peter. She tells him to think like her and think better than bad. She also wished peter had something to believe in like god.
Why does Anne leave her diary behind. She left it behind because she couldn't pack it in her bag. She could only pack clothes for the concentration camp.
Where were the families sent after the police picked them up. The boys were sent to Auschwitz and the girls were sent to Belsen.
