Rational Numbers

TermDefinition
Opposite A number that is the same distance from zero on the number line as a given number, but lies in the opposite direction.
Integer A number that is the same distance from zero on the number line as a given number, but lies in the opposite direction.
Rational Number A number that is the same distance from zero on the number line as a given number, but lies in the opposite direction.
Absolute Value A number that is the same distance from zero on the number line as a given number, but lies in the opposite direction.
Inequality A statement that compares two quantities using <, >
Ordered Pair A pair of numbers that can be used to locate a point on a coordinate plane
Origin (0,0) the starting point
X- Coordinate the first number in an ordered pair
Y- Coordinate the second number in an ordered pair
Scale what a number line is counting by
X-Axis the horizontal line on the coordinate plane
Y-Axis the vertical line on the coordinate plane
