Rational Numbers

| Absolute Value | A number that is the same distance from zero on the number line as a given number, but lies in the opposite direction. |

| Ordered Pair | A pair of numbers that can be used to locate a point on a coordinate plane |
| Origin | (0,0) the starting point |
| X- Coordinate | the first number in an ordered pair |
| Y- Coordinate | the second number in an ordered pair |
| Scale | what a number line is counting by |
| X-Axis | the horizontal line on the coordinate plane |
| Y-Axis | the vertical line on the coordinate plane |
