| excess reactant | An excess reactant is a substances that is not used up completely in a reaction. |
| theoretical yield | Theoretical yield is the maximum amount of products that can be produced from a given amount of reactant. |
| actual yield | The actual yield is the measured amount of a product of a reaction |
| percentage yield | Percent Yield is the ratio of the actual yield to the theoretical yield, mutiplied by 100. |
