Multiplication and Division Vocab

partial products a strategy used to multiply multi-digit numbers: the products you get in each step
multiplication an operation used to find the total number of items in equal sized groups
product the result of multiplication
factor a number that is multiplied
muiltiple the product of a given number and any other whole number
dividend the number that is being divided
divisor a number being divided into the dividend either completely or with a remainder
partial quotients a strategy used to divide multi-digit numbers; the quotients you get in each step
division an operation used to separate number of items into equal-sized groups
quotient the result of division
remainder in division, the amount left over that cannot be divided evenly by the divisor
