Prefixes, Suffixes, and inflectional endings that change word meaning.

What inflectional ending is added to a word to note past tense? -ed (ie., happened - something that HAS already occurred)
What inflectional ending represents present tense? -ing (ie., happening - something IS occurring)
What inflectional ending notes plurals on nouns and third person singular on verbs? -s/-es (ie., NOUN: apples VERB: eats)
What inflectional ending is added to note possession? -'s (ie., Mary's apples)

anti- against (ie., antibiotics - literally "against life", they kill bacteria living in the body)

de- down, remove, reduce, do the opposite (ie., deactivate - remove the power or effectiveness)
dis- opposite (ie., distrust - doubt, not to trust)

hyper- beyond, more than, more than normal (ie.hyperactive, hyperventilate

-ive changes action to a characteristic or tendency (ie. creative, massive)
-less unable to, without (ie. lifeless, harmless)
-ly denotes adverbs (ie. swiftly, quickly)
-ment result of an action (noun ie. excitement, resentment)
-ness quality,state of being (ie. happiness, bashfulness)
-ous full of, having (ie. glorious, joyous)
