| Endothermic Reaction | Any chemical reaction that absorbs heat from its environment. |
| Exothermic reaction | When energy is transferred to the surroundings |
| Solid | An object that's molecules are very close together |
| Liquid | An object that's molecules are slightly spread out |
| Gas | An object that's molecules are spread out alot |
| Phase change | When a object i going from one state of matter to another by adding or decreasing energy |
| Electron | a stable subatomic particle with a charge of negative electricity, found in all atoms and acting as the primary carrier of electricity in solids. |
| Radioactivity | the emission of ionizing radiation or particles caused by the spontaneous disintegration of atomic nuclei. |
| Alpha particle | a helium nucleus emitted by some radioactive substances, originally regarded as a ray. |
| beta particle | a fast-moving electron emitted by radioactive decay of substances. (The emission of beta particles was originally regarded as a ray.). |
| gamma ray | penetrating electromagnetic radiation of a kind arising from the radioactive decay of atomic nuclei. |
| periodic table of elements | A chart of every single known element and its abbreviation |
| Element | Lots of the same atoms grouped up together |
| Compound | A compound is a material composed of two or more components. Water, carbon dioxide and table salt are some examples of compounds. |
