Phrasal verbs for driving

| Drive off | Leave a place in a vehicle |
| Drive on | Continue driving |
| Back up | Reverse, move a vehicle back |
| Get on | To climb on board |
| Fill up | Put petrol or fuel in the tank |
| Pick up | To go and fetch someone from a place and take them somewhere else |
| Drop off | To take someone to a place and leave them there |
| Speed up | Accelerate |
| Pull over | Move over to the side of the road |
| Cut in / off | Suddenly move very closely in front of another vehicle in a dangerous manner |
| Break down | When a vehicle stops working |
| Knock down | Hit someone or something with a vehicle |
| Pull in | Move to a designated place at the side of the road |
| Turn off | Leave a road to take another. Also, stop the motor. |
| Pull out | Move out from the roadside onto the road. |
| Pull up | Stop |
| Slow down | Reduce the speed. Decelerate. |
| Pull off | Leave the road momentarily |
| Pull over | Move over to the side of the road. |
