| Term | Definition |

| absolute value | A numbers distance from zero on a number line. |
| additive inverse | Two numbers whose sum is zero. |
| integer | All whole numbers (both positive and negative) and zero. |
| rational number | A number that can be expressed as the quotient of two integers. |
| repeating decimal | A decimal that repeats a digit or group of digits forever. |
| terminating decimal | A decimal number that ends or terminates. |
| reciprical | When you flip the fraction, creating its multiplicative inverse. a/b =b/a |
| numerator | The top number in a fraction that represents the amount of 'parts of a whole' you have. |
| denominator | The bottom number of a fraction that represents how many parts create 1 whole; divisor. |
| inverse operations | Operations that undo one another, such as addition & subtraction or multiplication & division. |
