| Order of Operations | The specific order in which certain operations are to be carried out to evaluate or simplify expressions (PEMDAS) |
| Reciprocal Fractions | 4/3 and 3/4 or 3 and 1/3 |
| Rational Numbers | *Any number that can be expressed as a fraction. *A set of numbers that includes positive and negative whole numbers, decimals, and fractions. |
| Simplify | To write a fraction or expression in simplest form |
| Commutative Property | a + b = b + a |
| Additive Inverse | A number and its opposite add up to give zero. They are called inverse additives of each other. |
| Multiplicative Inverse | Reciprocal (4/3 and 3/4 or 3 and 1/3) |
| Quotient | The answer to a division problem |
| Algebraic Expression | An expression that contains at least one variable |
| Evaluate | To find the numerical value of a mathematical expression. |
| Numerical Term | A single number or product (or quotient) of numbers. |
