You can reduce your chances of being in an accident by knowing and using the standard accident prevention formula. What is the accident prevention formula? Be alert, Be prepared, Act in time.
If you have a flat tire or blowout, you should perform what actions? Accelerate slightly and steer as straight as possible, then begin to slow down by gently removing your foot from the accelerator, turn on your emergency lights, steer towards the right-hand lane and pull over when it's safe. Coast to a stop.
In extreme cases, an aggressive driver may cause... a collision and/or road rage.
What actions could lead to distracted driving? Talking on the phone, texting on your phone, reaching for an object or device, moving objects/animals in the vehicle, adjusting the volume or climate control.
To avoid "highway hypnosis" when driving, it is a good practice to, take frequent breaks. Don't look at one thing for more than a few seconds.
In city driving, you should drive, watch, and look. You should drive 25 mph or less, watch for pedestrians, and look at least 12 seconds ahead.
All drivers, during rain, snow and ice must have their windshield wipers and headlights on.
To maintain a proper following distance when you driving, you should stay at least, 3 seconds
What are some signs of a defensive driver? Alert, prepared, and act in time.
What are some signs of an aggressive driver? Speeding, cutting people off, changing lanes without signals, tailgating.
During bad weather conditions, a truck takes longer to stop. This can be as much as 25% more
If a driver of a large truck or bus cannot see you in his rear view mirrors, you are in their blind spot/no zone.
If you go into a skid, you should take your foot off the pedal and turn the wheel the way you want to go.
If your wheels drift onto the shoulder of the road and you want to return to the paved road, you should do what? Slow down and turn back onto the pavement slowly.
