Math Study Cards

TermDefinition
Addition process of combining two or more numbers
Subtraction to take away from a group or a number of things
Regroup to rearrange groups in place value to carry out an operation
Equation mathematical sentence that has two equal sides separated by an equal sign
Estimate To find a value that is close enough to the right answer, usually with some thought or calculation involved
multiplication repeated addition
Cube (multiplication) a number multiplied by itself three times
Sphere a three-dimensional shape that is round, has no edges, and is a solid shape
Rectangle closed 2-D shape, having 4 sides, 4 corners, and 4 right angles
Table Information (such as numbers and descriptions) arranged in rows and columns
dividing to see how many equal groups are formed or how many are in each group when sharing fairly
cube (shape) a solid shape with six square faces
Sum answer to an addition problem
Quotient answer to a division problem
Difference answer to a subtraction problem
Product answer to a multiplication problem
