cone a solid (3-dimensional) object that has a circular base joined to a point by a curved side
coordinate plane the plane containing the x-axis and the y-axis
cylinder a solid object with two identical flat ends that are circular (or more generally have a curved boundary) and one curved side. it has the same cross-section from one end to the other
diameter the distance from one point on a circle through the center to another point on the circle. it is the longest distance across the circle and twice the radius.
hypotenuse the side opposite the right angle in a right triangle. it is also the longest side of the right triangle
leg this refers to a side other than the one opposite the right angle
Pythagorean Theorem in a right triangle, the square of the long side is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides
radius the distance from the center to the edge of a circle. it is half of the circle's diameter
right triangle a triangle that has a right angle
sphere a 3-dimensional object shaped like a ball. every point on the surface is the same distance from the center
volume the amount of 3-dimensional space something takes up
