Beguile- verb to charm or enchant someone/something
Behemoth- noun something that is really big/huge
Benign- adj harmless/not dangerous
Bequeath- verb to formally leave something to someone in a will
Bereft- adj to feel deprived or lacking (you didn’t get what you deserved)
Boisterous- adj loud/chaotic/energetic
Bombastic- adj talk a big game but not really saying anything
Cacophony- noun harsh mixture of sounds
Cadence- noun the repetition of sound in a rhythmic sound
Cajole- verb to persuade someone to do something through flattering them (buttering them up)
Calumny-noun the making of slanderous statements (normally in public)
Candor- noun the quality of being bluntly honest (not always great)
Capacious- adj big open, spacious with lots of room
Capricious- adj prone to violent swings in mood
Cerebral- adj very intellectual and brainy (live in their mind)
Compunction- noun a feeling of guilt or remorse (not always warranted)
Concede- verb to give into something (admit defeat)
Concord- noun agreement/harmony (you’re on the same page)
Condone- verb accepting or allowing something without actively pushing for/against it
Conflagration- noun a huge, destructive fire
Confluence- noun the coming together or water/rivers (or really anything)
Conundrum- noun a joining of difficulties or problems (complex predicament)
Corpulent- adj having a lot of body (overweight)
Coup- noun fast/effective change (the overthrowing of a government)
Covet- verb to desire to posses something that is not yours to have
Demagogue- adj a political leader who plays off the fears and prejudices (or just emotions) of their constituents
Denigrate- verb to unfairly criticize
Depraved- adj morally corrupt (evil)
Diaphanous- adj thin, shear, translucent (no substance)
Discern- verb to differentiate things (higher level of thinking)
Discursive- adj rambling from topic to topic (not following a set pattern)
Dissonance- noun a lack of harmony (often used in music)
Dormant- adj inactive or asleep
Docile- adj submissive/calm easy to control or train
Dubious- adj causing doubt
