| 1. Absolute Value | The absolute value of a number a is the distance between a and zero on a number line the absolute value of a is written as |a|. |
| 2. Coordinate Plan | A coordinate plan is formed by a horizontal number line called the x-axis and vertical number line called y-axis. |
| 3. Integers | Integers are the set of positive whole numbers their opposites and 0. |
| 4 .Opposites | Opposites are two numbers that are the same distance from 0 on a number line but in opposite directions. |
| 5. Ordered Pair | An ordered pair identifies the location of a point in the coordinate plan. The x-coordinate shows a point left or right of the coordinate shows a point's position up or down from the x-axis. |
| 6. Origin | The origin is the point of intersection of the x- and y-axes on a coordinate plan. |
| 7. Quadrants | The x- and y-axis divides the coordinate plan into four regions called quadrants |
| 8.Rational Number | A rational number is a number that can be written in the form a over b or a over b where a is a whole number and b is a positive whole number the rational numbers include the integers |
| 9. X-and Y- axis | The x-axis is the horizontal number line that together with the y-axis forms the coordinate plan the y-axis is the vertical number line that together with the x-axis forms the coordinate plan. |

| 11. Whole Number | A positive counting number starting with 0 |
| 12. Scale of a number line | The value of the space between each tick mark on a number line this is how the number line is numbered. |
