Mexico Independence

When did Mexico gain their independence? Mexico gained its independence on September 15-16, 1810.
Who did Mexico recieve their independence from? Mexico received their independence from Spain.
Why did Mexico want independence? They didn't want Spain to treat them unfairly any longer.
How did the war for Mexican independence start and end? A priest named Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla issued a call for revolution on September 16, 1810 in an event known as “El Grito de Dolores”. This started the first uprising. It ended when the Spanish ran out of money and supplies so they gave up.
When did the Mexican War of Independence officially start and end? The Mexican War of Independence lasted a total of 11 years, starting September 16, 1810, and ended on September 27, 1821.
What was the first battle of the Mexican War of Independence? The Battle of Monte de las Cruces was the first battle of the Mexican War of Independence.
What was the last battle of the Mexican War of independence? The Battle of Azcapotzalco.
Who were some important people on Mexican independence Day? Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, José María Morelos y Pavón, Ignacio Allende, Josefa Ortiz de Domínguez, Juan Aldama, Agustín de Iturbide, Vicente Guerrero, and Guadalupe Victoria
When and how is Mexican independence day celebrated? It is celebrated on the night of September 15 through the 16 and they celebrate by shooting fireworks, throwing parties, and going to parades.
What are some important battles fought in the war? The First Battle of Agua Prieta which started the war , Battle of Zacatecas, which was the bloodiest battle, and the Second Battle of Agua Prieta which also fueled the revolution.
What treaty ended the war? The Treaty of Córdoba established Mexican independence from Spain at the conclusion of the Mexican War of Independence. It was signed on August 24, 1821 in Córdoba, Veracruz, Mexico.
