Parliamentary Procedures
| Term | Definition |

| Main Motion | proposes an action for the group to take |
| Amend | modifies a motion but does not change the meaning |
| Limit or Extend Debate | sets a length of time for discussion |
| Refer | allows a few members to attend to a matter |
| Lay on the Table | sets a matter aside briefly |
| Parliamentary Inquiry | asks a question of parliamentary law |
| Point of Order | calls attention to a parliamentary error |
| Take from the table | puts a previously tabled motion back on the floor |
| Suspend the rules | sets a rule aside for a specific reason |
| Previous Question | stops debate and demands an immediate vote |
| Withdraw | takes a motion from the floor without a vote |
| Question of Privilege | attends to a matter of comfort or convenience |
| Postpone Definitely | Delays a matter for a certain time |
| Division of the Assembly | Requires a countable vote |
| Recess | provides a break in the meeting |
| Orders of the day | demands that the meeting follow the agenda |
| Postpone Indefinitely | kills a motion without a vote |
| Adjourn | ends the current meeting immediately |
| Reconsider | brings a motion back for another vote |
