Merchant - boastful - cares about his appearance - negotiator - acts rich but is in debt - no one knows his name - nice guy

Sergeant of the Law (lawyer) - wise - quiet - spoke mostly of wisdom - higher up - greatly praised - wasn't questioned - lazy - dressed wealthy - SMART --> history
Franklin - wealthy land owner - likes to eat - wine connoisseur - older gent - has fun - helps others - happy - likes parties
Tradesmen - rich - dressed nicely - proper - wants to be respected
Cook - smart - ulcer on knee
Skipper - sailor - outside a lot (very tan) - ignored rules - thief (wine) - drunk - has beard - common/simple clothing - good fighter - very mean - not rich - took no prisoners (threw off boat)
Doctor - knowledgable - not religious - loves gold - dressed in silk - eats healthy (takes care of his body) - has a deal w/ apothecary
Wife of Bath (women) - somewhat deaf - holy (devout) - dressed very nice (in red) - travels (to holy places) - seamstress - been married 5 times - pretty wealthy - "expert" in love
Parson - poor - rich in holiness - priest of a small town - gives to the poor - dislikes tithes - Christ - like
Plowman (brother of the Parson) - honest worker - poor - devout - gives to the poor - pays tithes - good person
Miller - red hair ; beard - wart on nose - plays bagpipes - thief (steals grain -- over charges) - crude
Manciple - smart w/ money - uneducated - Illiterate - smarter than the people he works for - arrogant
Reeve - old ; thin - close shave - pencil legs - rich : smart w/ money - Farm Manager (feared by employees) - many animals - Carpenter - very "nice" to his boss
Summoner - ugly - smells bad - drunk - "forgive" sins for wine or money - blackmailer
Pardoner (rode w/ Summoner) - long, yellow, great hair - bulging eyes - he has no balls (because he is a good singer) - fake relics - conman - story teller & singer for money - greedy
