Speed, Velocity, Acceleration Vocabulary Words

| Speed | the distance an object travels per unit of time |
| Velocity | speed in a given direction |
| Acceleration | the rate of change of velocity which includes speeding up, slowing down, or changing direction |
| Deceleration | slowing down |
| At Rest | not moving, stopped, sitting still, motionless |
| Displacement | how far an object is away from where it started |
| Direction | a course along which something or someone moves |
| Units of Speed | miles per hour (mph), meters per second (m/s), kilometers per hour (km/h) |
| Units of Velocity | miles per hour (mph) east, meters per second (m/s) north kilometers per hour (km/h) towards Galveston Direction can be up, down, left, right, east, west, north, south, towards, going back |
